"A Boy with a dream." — Bruno Nchang

Even on the itcAs a child back in Cameroon, I always wanted to play like samuel Eto'o.

When I used to watch his barcelona and international matches for Cameroon, his performances just made me go outside and play football with others and try to do what he did but I was not very good at football... So I moved to England and I still tried to be like him and then I heard of a player called Neymar when I was in year 10. Thats when I started using all these skills, flicks and tricks that he would do. I would go on youtube and type in "Neymar skills and goals or Neymar vs"a team he played against durring the week, to see his individual highlights. I then started to love Neymar more as a player than I did for eto'o because as winger, Neymars playing style matched my playing personality and so I jus grew on from then till this day. I want to emulate him so bad.

The impact eto'o and neymar had/has on me:

Eto'o: As a child, I grew up in the circle where all the kids wanted to be like eto'o and it influenced me into that path. Eto'o had an impact on me because of the personality he carried with him on an off the pitch. H e was a fighter and his background inspired me to be a better person. Thats why today I want to put smiles on peoples faces like he has done. Eo'o has put smiles on the whole of his nations face so many times and he has been a great role model for many kids and he still is.

Neymar: Now this is a whole different story right here.

I heard the name neymar in a science lesson and I heard so many people say amazing things about him, how skillfull, young, brilliant etc. he was and I thought to myself, probably one of those overrated players and didn't bother trying to find out about him. Then one day I was going through players on YouTube and saw Neymar amazing skills and goals and so I thought I should check him out since he is everywhere on my YouTube feed.

In less than a minute of the video I was mind blown and i quicly paused the video to check his age and it said "19" and I felt so bad for judging him like I di but from then, I never went a day without watching a video of neymar. Thats when I wanted to play like neymar more and more and do the things he does on the pitch and off the pitch.

He inspires me so much because, he goes through a lot of hate from people around the world but that doesn't stop him from doing what he does. He is always smiling and ginving 100% in every match despite all the negetive talk about him. Thats why, I look up to him. He is a strong individual. He has a good behaviour on and off the pitch. I have never re-searched on him and found out that he has done something bad that will bring his personality down. He is an amazing role model to anyone if you ask me.

Even on the pitch, You see players trying to purposely hurt him because he humiliates them. Its part of football but he keeps his calm and acts professiona about it.

EDUCATION

My name is Bruno Ndikum Nchang.

I was born in 14/02/97 therefore, I am 17 years of age.

I am half Cameroonian and Half American.

I am right footed and 6'0 tall.

These are the positions I can play: Left wing, Right wing, Center Attacking midfield, Center Forward and Right back.

Clubs I have played for: Bustleholme Rangers FC, Wordsley wasps FC, kewford eagles FC and Stourbridge FC.

My first ever season was a very nervous season for me. What I mean by this is, I had no self confidence what so ever because, I had never been in a competitive match. Everytime I got the ball, My heart was beating so fast of fear because I was scared of expressing myself on the pitch and I was scared to tack on players like i did in training because I did'nt want people to moan at me so all I did was pass it straight away to my team mates.

My second season was a breakthrough season for me and this is why.

Before pre-season, I was training with other clubs and I was getting prasie from those clubs and so it made me feel good about myself and so I thought it was time for me to face my old club again. I went for pre-season training and the coach saw a different player in me and he approached me after the training setion and said to me "This is the player I want you to be. Play like this, express yourself on the pitch. Take on players like  you do here. Shoot from anywhere when you see an oportunity like you do here. I see a very exciting player in you. Don't let that player stay hidden" and he smiled and walked off.

That really got to me and so I spent my time looking up for tournaments before pre-season and I went to as many football tournaments as I coold to better myself. Day of first pre-season match. The caoch gave all the players a long chat and named the squad, My name was on the starting 11 for the first time. I was shocked because my first season was poor and that gave me more confidence because I knew he believed in me. I wanted to keep my place in the starting 11.

The match kicked off and as soon as i got the ball, I took on, 1, 2, 3,4 and crossed the ball into the box and my team mate hit the cross bar with a brilliant powerd header and I got applaudes. Then I realised...My heart was not beating of fear. Thats when it all changed for me. I ended up scoring 2 goals and setting up 1 which the match ended 5-2 we won.

From there on, I knew that I was a completely different player just kept producing game after game and was starting every game and I was told I should try and contact biger clubs because they thought I was ready. I ended up scoring 19 goals and assisting 14 times in 27

Matches. I was deffinately fired up to keep improving each season that went on and I felt that my time was finally over at bustleholme, I did play for Wordsley wasps and kewford in my forth and in the same season. I will explain how this worked.

I played a total of 10 games with wordsley wasps and I was helping them climb up the table. Then it started raining week after week and we had to forfeit our home games, which we had 4 home games in a row. I gave them time and thought we would play soon and I got a text from the manager saying they folded a week before the 4th match. I didn't start moaning about wasting my time, I got straight on the computer looking for teams and getting phone numbers. I was phoning all teams I could and I bumbed into Kewford eagles and they gave me a 2 week trial but i turned up for my first trial and they just wanted to sign me.

They got permision off my ex manager since it was a different league and I was allowed to play for them.

I made my debut in a 7-1 loss. I came on when it was 5-0 in the 70th minute and as soon as the ball came to me, I went through 1,2,3,4,5 players and assisted the striker for a consolation.

After my debut I was their main player throughout the season but there was a little controversy between 7 of the players and me. Because I was the only black one on the team, There was a lot of hate and racial comments made. I got annoyed but never reacted. I did react one match, but it was because i lost the ball. I was called a name that I didn't like so I went up to my team mate and said, "don't call me that. I'm here to enjoy my football, not fight, so he pushed me and I was about to punch him but then I thought to myself, im better than this and walked off. The referee gave us yellow cards.

I accepted the referees decition and carried on playing. I did not let the fact that I was not liked in the team, so I finished the rest of the season with them, carrying them from bottom 3 to 3rd in the league.

I left proud and forgot about the whole issue that happend at the club and said to myself I am never coming back. The manager liked me but I didn't leave because I was not liked but because I wanted to move to a bigger and better club. Which I did. I moved to Stourbridge FC.

Now that the season has finished, I chose to do this website to inspire people that, no matter what you want to be, you can achieve that. Not that I have achieved my dream yet but I have over come a lot of obstacles.

Everytime I go to the park and theres either my friends or kids that have seen me play, they always want me to show them a couple of tricks or have a kick about with them. The kids in my area always mentioning my name and how good they think I am. I have heard a couple of times that " I want to play like bruno" and a kid asked me to train himand he is 12. I had never seen a child so good at football and I was nowhere as good as him and to think that a kid that good would want to learn off me was a big deal to me.

It made me realise how far I have come and thats why when most of my friends stop playing football and say "it is a waste of time" I just feel bad for them because of how much effort we all put in and they just give up like that. I have never and will never give up till I am a professional footballer. I am ready to do what ever it takes.

ABOUT ME

Iam

A Semi-professional footballer

I am a semi-professional footballer and I play for Stourbridge FC.

I am 17 years old and football (soccer) is my life.I live in England with my mum and my dad and 3 sisters + my little brother who is on the way. I never had this much passion about football until I was in year 9 in highschool. I was told that I was not good enough and that I was rubbish. That made me upset, so I used my summer holidays to practice each and every single day to get better at football and in year 10, I was a completely different player. I was getting passed players with ease like never before and even scoring for fun and then it made me realise how much the quote "practice makes perfect" is true and ever since, all I do is play football and I am looking to go pro.

Many people ask me why I want to be a professional footballer so bad and my answer is, I want to change lives of people, help people that don't have anything. Go around the world to meet people and put smiles on peoples faces. Most of all, I want to retire my parents because, they have been the key to my life and made me who I am today. There is so much more on why I want to be a professional footballer and if you want to know more and know anything else, just e-mail me at ndikumjunior@yahoo.com
